What it is
Ravello sits 350 meters above the sea, looking down on the entire coast. Wagner composed here, Greta Garbo hid here, Gore Vidal lived here for 30 years. There's a reason. You'll visit Villa Rufolo — 13th-century Arab-Norman architecture with gardens that inspired Parsifal. Then Villa Cimbrone and its Terrace of Infinity — the belvedere that Gore Vidal called 'the most beautiful view in the world.' Finally, the Duomo with its 13th-century bronze doors and the blood of San Pantaleone. Your guide is an art historian who has spent 20 years studying the coast's cultural heritage. This isn't a walking tour with dates and facts — it's the story of why Ravello attracts geniuses. Entrance tickets to both villas included.
