Fornillo is the quieter, more bohemian sibling of Spiaggia Grande, reached via the Sentiero degli Innamorati — a scenic five-minute footpath carved into the cliff past a medieval Saracen watchtower. The beach is smaller and pebbly, backed by lush vegetation and a handful of laid-back beach bars. The crowd here skews more local, more artistic, less selfie-stick. A generous free section sits between the two main lidos. The water is slightly clearer than Spiaggia Grande thanks to the pebble bottom. Fornillo catches sun all day but feels cooler in the late afternoon under the cliff shadow on its western edge.
Walk from Spiaggia Grande via Sentiero degli Innamorati (5 min). No direct road access.
Bring water shoes — the pebbles are large and rough. The bar Pupetto at the far end of Fornillo has the best sundowner cocktails with a direct sunset view.
