Positano is a vertical city of stairs. With strollers or tired toddlers, it's miserable. Visit without kids, or take the ferry for a quick photo stop.

Kids love it. Workshops in Raito let children paint their own ceramic tile or plate to take home. A perfect rainy-day activity.

Take the ferry from Maiori to Amalfi (15 min) — the coast from the sea is spectacular. Kids treat it as a boat adventure, and you avoid the SS163.
